Overview

The purpose of the project was to provide a unique streetscape design reminiscent of the community’s past, that looks ahead to the future. Recommended improvements included the following items: street trees, off-street parking, street lighting, pavement patterns for the walks, trash receptacles, and crosswalks.

Klavon’s tasks prior to design included reviewing the existing site, providing historic research, identifying and mapping opportunities and constraints, identifying major entry points, recommending improvements to coincide with existing visual character, and prioritizing user needs. Klavon facilitated all community and steering committee meetings and provided applicable design solutions in response to feedback recorded during the meetings. Deliverables prepared included a phasing plan, cost estimates, construction documents, and specifications. During installation, Klavon also provided field observation and construction management.
